We have access to the full range of leading hearing aid manufacturers and technologies, and we take the time to explain the genuine differences between devices, so you can make an informed decision with confidence. If a mid-range device will serve you just as well as a premium one, we'll tell you.

That's why every tinnitus consultation begins with a full diagnostic hearing assessment, including examination of your ear canals and eardrums, pure tone audiometry, speech testing, and middle ear analysis. This allows us to identify any underlying hearing conditions that may be contributing to your tinnitus, and to rule out treatable causes such as wax build-up or middle ear dysfunction.
Tinnitus Assessment & Consultation
Beyond your hearing, we take the time to understand your tinnitus itself — how it sounds, when it occurs, and most importantly, how it affects your daily life, sleep, concentration, and wellbeing. Using validated questionnaires and tinnitus-specific measurements such as pitch and loudness matching, we build a detailed profile of your tinnitus and its severity. Just as importantly, this consultation is an opportunity for you to be heard. There is no shortage of unproven tinnitus "cures" on the market — we don't offer them. Depending on your assessment results, your plan may include education and counselling to reduce the distress associated with tinnitus, sound enrichment and sound therapy to make tinnitus less noticeable, hearing aids where hearing loss is present (which research shows can significantly reduce tinnitus awareness), and practical strategies for sleep, concentration, and stress management. For those needing additional support, we can work alongside your GP, psychologist, or other health professionals as part of a coordinated care approach.

As an independent clinic, we are not restricted to any single manufacturer. We can supply, fit, and service hearing aids from all leading brands, and our recommendations are based purely on what will work best for your hearing loss, your lifestyle, and your listening needs — not on commercial arrangements. If you were previously fitted with a particular brand, we can continue supporting those devices or discuss alternatives that may serve you better.
Ongoing Management & Long-Term Support
WorkCover hearing care doesn't end at the fitting. We provide ongoing management for all our WorkCover clients, including regular reviews, fine-tuning and reprogramming as your hearing or listening needs change, repairs and maintenance, batteries and consumables where covered, and reassessment when you become eligible for updated devices. Government Funded Hearing Services for Pensioners and DVA
Good hearing is essential for maintaining independence, staying connected with family and friends, and enjoying everyday life. Through the Australian Government's Hearing Services Program (HSP) and the Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA) Hearing Services, eligible pensioners and veterans can access high-quality hearing care and hearing devices with government funding.
At Hearing First Audiology, we are an accredited provider of both the Hearing Services Program and DVA Hearing Services, offering comprehensive, personalised hearing care from assessment through to long-term rehabilitation.
Hearing Services Program (HSP)
The Hearing Services Program is funded by the Australian Government to assist eligible Australians with hearing loss. Depending on your eligibility, the program provides access to comprehensive hearing assessments, hearing rehabilitation, ongoing support, and government-funded hearing devices.
If you qualify, you may be eligible for fully subsidised hearing aids that meet your clinical hearing needs. For those who require additional technology or features, a range of partially subsidised hearing devices may also be available.
As part of our commitment to making hearing care more accessible, Hearing First Audiology waives both the Hearing Services Program maintenance co-payment and replacement co-payment, meaning eligible HSP clients receive ongoing support without these additional out-of-pocket costs.
Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA) Hearing Services
Eligible DVA Gold Card holders and approved White Card holders can access hearing services funded through the Department of Veterans' Affairs. We provide comprehensive hearing assessments, hearing rehabilitation, hearing aid fittings, repairs, maintenance, replacement devices where clinically appropriate, and ongoing follow-up care in accordance with DVA guidelines.
